| This is the first book length-study devoted to chain-suspended silver tea balls. It describes, catalogues, and illustrates 463 different tea balls from fourteen countries, though the majority were made in the U.S.A. in the past 117 years. Tea balls by sixty-five different identifiable American makers are included, together with many of foreign origin and some whose origins cannot be definitely established. | |
| Each tea ball has been assigned an identification number and is classified according to its country of origin and maker, together with its defining characteristics and the authors' comments. Besides a historical introduction, the book contains information about forgeries, damage, repairs and condition (especially as it affects the value) A separate up-to-date Price Guide, which will be revised from time to time, accompanies this book. | |
