| | Ethel Louise Coe, a painter, printmaker, illustrator and teacher, studied at The Art Institute of Chicago and in Madrid with Joaquin Sorolla-y-Bastida. She received the Young Fortnightly Prize in 1911. Coe served as an instructor at the University of
Chicago and at Northwestern University from 1923-1926.
