Hu, Chi-Chung(Chinese-American, b. 1927)
Chi-Chung Hu is best known for his strikingly abstract, non-representational subjects which employ a vivid interplay of shape, color and texture. In fact, his signature introduction of sand into his paints creates a tactile element to his otherwise visually dominated artworks. Hu currently lives in New York City, where he has actively worked for the whole of his professional career, despite continuously exhibiting throughout the United States for most of the mid to late 20th century.
