Jensen, Holger W.(Danish/American, 1880-1943)
Holger W. Jensen, a painter and printmaker, was born in Denmark in 1880. Working in a primarily realist/ representational style, he painted landscape and interior scenes. Jensen attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Art and the Art Institute of Chicago, where his work was later exhibited. The Palette and Chisel Club first showcased his work in 1928, and awarded him the gold medal in 1934; in 1935 the Rockford Art Association exhibited his work in a solo show. Jensen was a member of the Palette and Chisel Club and the River Forest Art League.
