| | Born in 1955 in Kenosha Wisconsin, Michael Martino learned to draw and sculpt from his father, Palmer, a commercial artist. In 1977, he received his BFA in Sculpture from University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He has traveled around the world to create snow sculptures with his teammates Tom Queoff and Michael J. Sponholtz since 1986. In 1998 they won a Bronze medal at the Winter Olympics Art Festival in Iiyama Japan. In Kiruna, Sweded the team also took third place in the World Snow Sculpture Championship.
