| | Born in 1924 in Chicago, Seymour Rosofsky lived and worked throughout most of his life in Chicago as a painter. He completed a BFA and MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago as well as earning many grants and scholarships including a Fulbright Fellowship in 1958, American Academy in 1963, a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1962, a Copely Foundation grant in 1969, Cassandra Foundation grant in 1973. He taught at many institutions including Wright Junior College School of Art Institute Chicago, University of California at Santa Cruz, Northwestern University and Blackhawk Mountain School of Art. Solo and group exhibitions include the Art Institute of Chicago, University of Chicago, Northwestern University, and the Chicago Cultural Center. |
