| | Jack Simmerling is a Chicago artist famous for his watercolors and pen and ink drawings of historical Chicago. His art captures the energy and light of the city so beautifully that he has been commissioned by clients such as the City of Chicago, the University of Notre Dame, The Chicago Convention of Tourism Bureau, the University of Illinois at Chicago, Dominican University, Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Lexus/Toyota to name a few. Simmerling has been awarded with many honorable mentions throughout his artistic career, which began in high school, when the Chicago Tribune featured his unique depictions of Chicago in a 1952 article. To this day, Simmerling is an advocate for the preservation of historical Chicago and his works are displayed in many historic buildings throughout Chicago.
