Uzilevsky, Marcus (American 20th century)
Uzilevsky was born to Russian and Polish immigrant parents. He studied at the School of Art and Design in New York and worked as a commercial artist and illustrator. Finding commercial art unsatisfying, he began working as a musician in New York in the 1960's. Working under the pseudonym of Rusty Evans, he performed with several well-known musicians including, Bob Dylan.
Uzilevsky is most noted for his music series and his linear landscapes. He exhibited internationally in juried and over 50 one-man shows and has been recipient of several awards. His work is held in numerous public and private collections internationally including distinguished corporate collections and in museums. He currently is a working artist in California where he has resided since 1967.
